How long does SEO take to work?
Map and local results can move in four to eight weeks. Regular search rankings for competitive terms take three to six months to show clearly and keep improving after that. Anyone promising the first page in 30 days is either targeting terms nobody searches or is about to get you penalized.
The fast wins are the local ones. Completing your Google Business Profile, fixing inconsistent listings, and getting a run of reviews can change your map position in a month or two, because those signals are direct and Google trusts them. That's usually where the phone starts ringing first.
Organic rankings, the regular results below the map, take longer because they depend on your site earning trust over time: pages that answer real questions, other sites mentioning you, and a track record. For a local business in a market like Valdosta, three to six months is normal before you see a clear difference, and the results compound from there.
What should you see, and when
Month one: the foundation is fixed and you can see it (profile complete, listings consistent, site pages rewritten). Months two and three: map visibility and calls from the map pick up. Months three to six: search rankings for your main services climb and traffic follows. After six months: the work shifts from building to defending and expanding. We report on all of it monthly in plain English, and if it's not moving, we say so and change the plan.

Claim and fully complete your Google Business Profile, keep your name, address, and phone identical everywhere online, get reviews steadily, and add photos and posts. That's most of it. The rest is a website that backs up what the profile says.
