How long does it take to build a website?
Four to six weeks for a normal local business website, from the first conversation to launch, if you can get us your content in the first two. Online stores take six to ten. The most common delay is waiting on photos and writing, not on the build.
Week one is the conversation and the plan: what the site needs to do, what pages, what you have and what's missing. Weeks two and three are design and writing, and this is where projects stall, because it's when we need your photos, your service list, and your answers to a few questions. Weeks four and five are the build, your review, and changes. Launch is usually week five or six.
If you need photography, add a week. If you're selling online, add product entry time, which depends entirely on how many products and how clean your list is.
How to make it faster
Have someone who can answer questions and approve things within a day. Gather your photos before we start. Decide who's writing the words, you or us. Projects with those three things settled land on the early end of the range every time.
